This song has alot of meaning to me! I think It not only fits me as a person but also fits our fight and our teachers, Pta and our KIDS!! These kids are going to make there mark on this world. I know they've already made there mark on my heart! I hope this song Inspires more people to get out there and do Whats right and VOTE YES on May 18th !!!

Where are all my Followers??

Ok Im not meaning to osund ungrateful here but by now I really thought Id have ALOT more followers.. Why does It seem like so many out there are all talk but no action. I really was hoping to see alot of people on here voiceing there opinions making good point and alot of really good conversation and commradery going on but theres NOT!! Maybe Im over reacting or maybe I just expected too much but Im feeling a weeeeee bit let down by my community! Either way the vote Is coming up on May 18th. That date Is like this looming cloud over my head. As each day draws closer the cloud grows bigger. Not that Im thinking negatively at all but Its just this cloud of uncertainty and unknowing the outcome of all this. Alot has gone Into saving our school, Christine has done AMAZING with her letter campaign and keeping the word out there. I only wish I could speak as elequently as her!!! And Dara and Elizabeth and Terry are all doing such amazing work going to BOE Meetings and handing out flyers and making sure there kids voices are heard! I am very proud to be a member of Smith School PTA! Anyone that knows me , knows that me being PTA was the farthest thing from my mind. But these woman and man lol have most defintely changed my mind. Not to mention helped me grow In alot of ways I never could have Imagined. I think .. no I know thanks to them I have become an even stronger more well rounded woman!!! Im very grateful for the friendships Ive made through all this. Im also VERY gratefull for my 266 kids that I've grown to love. Smith School Is not just any school Its a FAMILY!!!!! I love those kids as If they were my own. As do all the teachers, which is a whole nother story lol. Our teachers are the most AMAZING .. SMART .. LOVING .. ENERGETIC .. DEDICATED teachers I have EVER seen. They go above and beyond the norm of helping these kids and they always do everything they can to make sure they are not only learning the material but truly understand It!!!!

So ...... Right now Its a fight fight fight till the end and pray that there Is no end to be seen. We will be heading out soon, Probably this weekend to our wonderful southside neighbors to talk with them about support the 5 percent tax hike to save our school! After that Its out of our hands as to how they actually vote..

Hey guys! I wanted to 1st thank Marietta, our very first follower for her comment! Thank you In helping In our quest to not only Save our schools but our teachers and teachers aides!! Secondly Id like to remind everyone that there Is a Board Meeting tomorrow. Even though we are as of right now safe, we still have to show a presence at the board meetings. I LOVED the support we had at Tuesdays meeting and although Id LOVE to see that all the time, I really think we should definitly show more Intrest In going to reg Meetings!!

Lets Stick Together

As alot of you know our School District has been going through alot of turmoil. Smith School .. Columbus .. Arthur S May all up on the chopping block. Everything Is up In the air and we are all on Pins and Needles waiting the final outcomes of our three schools. I made up this page to not Only Help my School which Is Smith School, but to also bring together the rest of our community so we can discuss and keep up with the newest news. My dream goal would be to see ALL schools saved and ALL Teachers and TA'S saved!!! There will be links to websites and also links to our local Senators so you can voice your opinions to them on the chance of our schools closing. There will be more to come .. and I hope to see alot of community suppport In the comming days .. weeks ... and months!!
